    Troy Sharpe CFP®, Founder and CEO

    Troy Sharpe is the president of Oak Harvest Financial Group, a local family-owned financial services firm.

    Troy leads a team of other CFP® professionals and research analysts to help clients create customized financial strategies that align with their unique retirement goals.

    Troy holds a Series 65 license as well as a Texas life insurance license. He also earned a finance degree from Florida State University and completed his Certified Financial Planning certification at the Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University. Additionally, Troy is a Registered Financial Consultant with the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.

    You can hear Troy at 6 p.m. Saturdays on KTRH 740AM when he hosts “The Retirement Income Show.”

    Troy and his wife, Jessica, live in Katy, Texas.

     

    Jessica Sharpe, Co-Founder and President

    Jessica Sharpe attended Immaculata University outside the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area, where she studied marketing and psychology. Growing up in an “old-school” Italian and Irish family, Jessica learned the value of a dollar and the meaning of hard work at a young age.

    At 14, Jessica discovered a kindred spirit with, and an affinity for, the elderly while working in an assisted-living facility. Her childhood friends will vouch that she was the only teenage girl they knew who preferred Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee to the Spice Girls or the Backstreet Boys.

    Throughout high school, she worked for a financial practice owned by a family member, where she took interest in the insurance and financial industry. Encouraged to branch out on her own, Jessica became a producer for Allstate insurance with a focus on life insurance and retirement planning during her freshman year of college. Dedicated to both ventures, she enrolled in night classes and worked at Allstate full time during the day while helping out at the financial practice whenever called upon.

    Jessica has truly never met a stranger. Her warm nature, energetic spirit and genuine disposition help to motivate and inspire everyone around her to better themselves and better those around them. With over a decade experience in the financial industry, she has made it her personal mission to empower and educate retirees on their financial options in retirement with a specialized focus on an underserved women’s market. Jessica is a licensed Investment Advisor Representative and has a fiduciary responsibility to her clients.

    “Often, social and economic demands on women differ from their male counterparts,” Jessica says. “Female baby boomers wear many hats; they are caregivers, career women, mothers and wives, leaving little time to become a financial expert along the way. Many women will outlive their husbands or become divorced, leaving them vulnerable to being taken advantage of by less scrupulous advisors. I have set out to change this; gone are the days when a male advisor sits across the table from a couple and only addresses the husband. Financial independence comes with confidence, and I intend to empower women and instill confidence when it comes to making financial decisions.

    Personal interests include health, wellness, cooking, hiking, biking, painting, personal development and spending time with her husband, Troy, and their three dogs at their home in Katy.

    Luis León, Financial Advisor

    With an extensive career in the financial services industry spanning more than 25 years, Luis helps clients to financially prepare for retirement, by establishing a plan that allows them to  manage, grow, protect, and transition their wealth.

    Luis grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Houston in 1980. After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990, Luis began his career in the financial services industry at two commodities/futures firms in Chicago, and then spent 6 years as a relationship manager for corporate and institutional accounts. In 1996, he helped establish the Chase Private Bank International office in Houston, before joining UBS as a financial adviser in 2003.

    In 2006, Luis was named the Regional Director for Wealth Management International at Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he led a team of financial advisors, trust officers, and bankers through the 2008 financial crisis.  It was in this capacity that Luis began to appreciate the challenges and conflicts of the big-bank and broker-dealer world, and concluded that in order to provide conflict-free advice to his clientele, he would need to transition towards the independent advisory side of the business, joining Eagle Strategies LLC for 4 years, and now with the team at Oak Harvest Financial Group.

    Luis has his Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as a license for Life and Health Insurance. He continually works to broaden his industry knowledge, and is planning to pursue a CFP designation shortly. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

    Luis and his wife, Nina, have a daughter graduating from UT-Austin next year, and a son at Strake Jesuit.  His hobbies include reading, football, music, tennis, golf, and walking his labrador retriever, Boo.

     

    Jared Kenney, NSSA® Financial Advisor

    Jared joined Oak Harvest Financial Group in 2017, bringing with him more than 11 years of highly successful financial services experience. By applying his passion and expertise, Jared shares a mutual understanding of each client’s goals and helps them achieve those goals. His focus is on client relationships and loyalty, driving him to strive to deliver a truly rewarding experience to all of his clients.

    Jared attended Kansas State University, where he majored in marketing and economics. He grew up two miles from the campus and has been a passionate Wildcat fan since he was young. He began his career right out of college with Goheen Financial Group, LP, after which he worked at Spartan Wealth Management, LLC in 2010 for more than five years. Jared has his Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, as well as his life and health insurance license. He is also pursuing the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation, which will allow him to better serve the clients of Oak Harvest Financial Group.

    Jared became one of the very few in the retirement planning profession to obtain the National Social Security Advisors certificate through the National Social Security Association LLC in Cincinnati, OH. The NSSA® certification is the gold standard in Social Security certification and training in the nation. This certification makes him uniquely qualified to help the growing number of baby boomers optimize their Social Security strategies and lifetime income.

    Jared and his wife, Christina, have been married since 2011 and reside in Sugar Land, Texas. With their daughters, Kylie and Reagan, they enjoy spending time with their extensive family, almost all of whom reside in the Houston area. Jared also enjoys playing golf, fishing, boating, skiing and traveling.

     

    Frank Pizzoferrato, CEP®

    Frank Pizzoferrato, CEP®, is a 33-year veteran of the financial industry and has held the Certified Estate Planner® designation for more than  15 years.

    He started his career in property and casualty insurance, but for the past 30 years he has worked solely with retirees and the over-50 pre-retiree set, focusing on guaranteed principal, income, long-term care and wealth transfer. Frank’s unique experience and his ability to put any client at ease makes him of tremendous value to the Oak Harvest Financial Group team and to the Houstonians he sits with.

    The investment team at Oak Harvest can help you develop an investment strategy that reflects your specific goals and acceptable levels of risk and return. Our experience includes institutional investing, investment research, multi-asset portfolio construction and trade execution. We also manage your account and make any necessary adjustments in line with your financial needs and objectives.

     

    Chris Perras, CFA®, CLU®, ChFC®
    Chief Investment Officer, Financial Advisor

    Chris is a seasoned investment professional with over 25 years of experience working alongside some of the most successful money managers in the world. Chris has a track record of being able to adapt as the everchanging market landscape evolves, and makes extensive use of a variety of strategic investment methodologies. His transition from managing billions of dollars at the institutional level to helping individuals and families retire is guided by a desire to see first-hand the impact he is making in the lives of clients at Oak Harvest.

    Chris is a devoted husband and father. He is passionate about his faith and enjoys cooking for friends, fly fishing and spending time with his two golden retrievers.

    James McFarland, Senior Portfolio Manager

    James McFarland is Oak Harvest's Senior Portfolio Manager and works to ensure that all our client's unique investment strategies are executed and managed in the way that will best help them achieve their specific financial and retirement goals.

    Though born in Scotland and raised in Houston, James lived in Japan for over 12 years, where he obtained a Master of International Business degree from Tokyo’s prestigious Sophia University and discovered his passion for the capital markets and financial services. He has close to a decade of experience in the industry.

    After completing an internship with Goldman Sachs, he joined the Institutional Desk at Nissan Securities, one of the oldest financial trading houses in Japan. He obtained a JSDA Securities and Derivatives sales license in 2013 and subsequently achieved 30% of the trading volume on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. He later joined Morgan Stanley as a Director, leading the Japan Listed Derivatives group and managing market exposure and relationships for institutional clients with more than $750 billion in assets under management.

    After joining Oak Harvest in January of 2017, James obtained his Series 65 license and currently specializes in multi-asset portfolio construction, investment research, and trade execution for all of Oak Harvest’s clients. He speaks fluent Japanese and loves karaoke.

    Our service team is committed to exceeding your expectations and delivering the highest-quality customer support. We’re here to make everything as smooth and worry-free as possible during your financial transition. Our service team also will contact you with updates during your transition and to schedule your six-month and annuals reviews.     Larisa Kutac, Client Concierge

    Larisa began her career in the financial industry in 2003, as a key contributor for AIG. She has since had roles in customer service, administration and sales. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science and currently holds Group I License (Health & Life). 

    At Oak Harvest Financial Group, Larisa assists our financial advisors and clients in making sure their onboarding documents, deliverables and processes are compliant and successful. Her role also includes client relationship and helping clients with questions they have regarding their accounts. Her personal retirement philosophy is to be part of the solution that brings about financial freedom and retirement stability to every potential client. 

    Larisa enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She is an exercise enthusiast and is active in her church. She also has enjoyed volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the past 10 years. 

     

    Andrea Gortmaker, Client Concierge

    Andrea Gortmaker started her career in the financial services industry in 2015. Andrea is a graduate from Baylor University and a native Houstonian. She currently has her Series 7, Series 66, and Life insurance licenses. As an Advisor Specialist with Oak Harvest Andrea helps to manage day to day operations for our advisors and delivers excellent customer service to our clients. Andrea is very passionate about her career and her motivation stems from helping others to find financial freedom and to convey the importance of saving for retirement.

    Andrea is also an avid volunteer. She is a math tutor with a non-profit organization that helps young adults to obtain their GEDs, and when possible volunteers in the kitchen at The Beacon in Downtown Houston. Andrea also enjoys many sports and outdoor activities. She currently plays on a Dodgeball league, and also enjoys playing tennis and riding the bike trails around Houston.

     

    Chris Myrick, Client Services

    Chris Myrick, MBA, earned his Master’s in Finance at the University of Houston. He has been in the industry for almost a decade. Chris is the firm’s product guru who researches and analyzes new and existing vehicles to fulfill every client plan. He is pleased to be with Oak Harvest Financial Group, where the clients’ best interests drive all recommendations. “We have a clear directive to find the products and strategies that deliver the best results possible for our clients,” he says.

     

    OUR SUPPORT STAFF

    Our support staff is an invaluable part of the Oak Harvest team. The marketing and scheduling team assists with our firm’s events and scheduling your appointments. Our office staff helps to keep the office running smoothly. Most important, we all work together to support you and provide the care and attention you deserve.

     

    Megan Scheff, Marketing Director

    As the director of marketing, Megan Scheff is responsible for planning retirement seminars, social media strategies, client events and many other marketing programs that help promote the Oak Harvest message and philosophy. 

    Megan helps you stay connected by sharing the latest Oak Harvest updates through newsletters, Facebook updates and informational videos. 

    Megan and her husband, Anthony, live in Katy, Texas, with their sons, Thomas and Dean.

     

    Dana Dawkins, Marketing and Operations Coordinator 

    Dana Dawkins joined Oak Harvest after several years at a local private high school working in Development, Alumni Relations and Special Events.

    Dana graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Vocal Performance. She is a second generation, native Houstonian and the man in her life is a handsome, four-legged, 11 lb. ShihTzu named Boo.

    She is active in her church, singing in the Choir, participating in their annual Christmas production, and traveling on Mission Trips as often as possible. She is also a staunch supporter of The Brookwood Community where her oldest daughter is a day-time citizen. Her other daughter recently got married and is currently finishing up grad school in Fort Worth.

     

    Chris Ayers, Client Services - Scheduling

    Chris works in our scheduling department and ensures your experience from initial phone call to appointment runs smoothly. He is excited to help start your relationship with Oak Harvest Financial Group and offers a warm welcome to our family. Before coming to work at Oak Harvest, Chris worked in Christian youth ministry for 10 years. He has a master’s degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

    Chris and his wife, Kristin, are Houston natives and enjoy going to concerts, traveling and participating in their church.

     

    Nancy Teague, Client Services- Receptionist

    Nancy grew up in Houston in a large family with all sisters. She moved to Dallas for 15 years, where she fostered more than a half dozen children and helped run a small family business. She moved back to Houston five years ago, working several years in the medical field before joining Oak Harvest.

    Nancy has two grown daughters, both career women, and two grandchildren, one girl and one boy, all of whom are very special to her. There is also a special man in her life with whom she spends as much time with as possible. She loves to decorate for the seasons and enjoys working in her yard when the weather is nice. She is a fan of the Houston Rodeo and attends as many performances as she can. She is also a big fan of the Astros.

    Nancy looks forward to connecting you to the right person and extending a warm greeting when you visit. And, she makes fabulous cookies and coffee!

     

    Sydney Barrett, Client Services- Scheduling

    Sydney Barrett came to Oak Harvest Financial Group with more than three decades’ experience in the financial services industry, including wealth creation, wealth management and wealth preservation. She previously served clients as a financial advisor for 29 years and then as a chief market strategist, where she was responsible for structuring and managing a firm’s in-house equity portfolio.

    Sydney entered the industry through the E. F. Hutton Trainee Program. She received her bachelor’s degree at University of Houston and has completed hours toward a master’s degree at the University of St. Thomas.

    Sydney holds her life and health insurance license in Texas.


    Kenny Bernal, Client Services- Scheduling

    Kenny has worked in outside and inside sales industries for years, with experience spanning from assisting paralegals and attorneys for law firms to promoting energy drinks. He now provides a warm welcome to attendees at our events and uses his experience as a frontman for a local rock band, Magenta Jones, to ignite the excitement at those events. Kenny is your first contact over the phone when scheduling your first appointment, and he enjoys helping people take the first step to building a better retirement.

    He got married to Alissa in May 2017 and the couple love to spend time with their two dogs, Mary and Daisy. He also enjoys traveling, camping, hiking in the hill country and visiting family. He has been called a “grill master” and loves to entertain family and friends. He is Houston proud and supports the Astros, Texans and Rockets.
